Making a Difference

Since its inception, Mattel Party on the Pier has provided unrestricted funding to launch high-priority programs that benefit children being treated at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital and around the world. Recent support helped build and staff pediatric allergy and immunology, cardiology, endocrinology, genetics, and pulmonology programs with required nurses. This support also funded a genetic counselor for children and families with rare genetic diseases, along with a dietitian who works with our healthcare team to provide an optimal nutrition plan for pediatric pulmonology patients—particularly those with cystic fibrosis. Thanks to global travel support for pediatric residents at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, their experience was expanded. In addition, unrestricted funding from Party on the Pier has helped to provide direct support to hospitalized children and their families when in need.

As a vital part of UCLA Health, UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital is a place where state-of-the-art care is delivered in a compassionate, family-centered atmosphere. General pediatricians work alongside leading specialists and subspecialists, and our physician-scientists discover new treatments and innovations that transform pediatric healthcare. The vision of this extraordinary team and the generosity of our dedicated philanthropic partners help ensure a brighter tomorrow for all children.
